Tell Me Where the Money Came From
I was hundreds of miles from Mama,
Searchin' for treasures unfound.
When news of sadness reached me,
On her death bed my Mama was bound.
Well, I had not a single dollar,
To take me to her side.
So I went to a church of her Jesus,
For the Bible said He would provide.
I fell on my knees at the altar,
And prayed the best I knew how.
I said, "If you'll take me to Mama,
I'll give you my heart here and now.
When I left that church after prayin'
There, on the sidewalk, it lay.
The money to take me to Mama,
To see her, on her dying day.
As the miles between us melted,
And I held her close once more.
I realized those treasures I'd hunted,
Had been waiting at my Mother's door.
I know my Mother's in Heaven,
And I'll join her there some day.
All because I remembered the Bible,
And went to our Jesus to pray.
So, if you don't believe in Heaven,
Or the rapture that some day will come.
If you don't believe in Jesus,
Tell me where the money came from.
