I Just Stopped By For The
Singing
I've passed by the little
church so many times before
But this time I stopped and stepped inside the door.
I sat in the back, just as the church bells stopped ringing
When the people greeted me, I said I'm here for the singing.
My house is close by and I
could hear the songs each Sunday morning
But this time the songs hit me like a rock with no warning.
I could understand the words and I knew their meaning
It was then I knew I was here, but not just for the singing.
When the Lord calls your
name, there'll be no doubt about it.
And when you answer the call, to the world you'll want to shout it.
Now when I come to that church, to the Lord my love I'm bringing
I'm not in the back any more and in the choir I'll be singing.
For some it takes
preaching, for some it takes teaching
But what ever it takes, the Lord will be reaching.
It was the singing that brought me to the cross
Now I know it was for me, that He paid grave cost.
