Over The Mountain |
 |
I had heard when I was young, Don't go up there
And I thought to myself, was this just a dare?
As I grew older I got up the nerve
And I had to go up, just to observe.
I got up the courage and started up that hill
I just hope there's nothing there that's liable to kill.
When I got to the top of the mountain I'd climbed
A man standing there with a smile I did find.
Over the mountain, he said to me
Was all I have heard since I was three.
We had a good laugh as we sat side by side
For over the mountain was the other side.
We take for granted what some people say
And we don't ask questions or go out of our way.
They say you'll never grow old if you drink from the fountain
But you'll never find it, till you go over the mountain.
