Straight From The Heart
Father at night, while down on my knees
I try to say words that to you will please.
There's so much to say but where do I start?
So I just say the words that comes from my heart.
Now I'm the first to admit that I'm not well
learned
But deep in my heart, I know your love can't be earned.
Though some may be fancy with their words when they start
I can honestly say, I speak straight from my heart.
Straight from the heart is how it should be
Like the words your Son, spoke that day on the tree.
We can't fool our Father, there's no reason to start
And we'll mean what we say, when it's straight from the heart.
Some people speak but little they say
But we can't fool God, when we kneel to pray.
Our God will help us if we'll do our part
And all that He asks is we speak straight from our heart.
