The Resting Place

The Weight On The Cross

Some times in our life the burdens get great
And we wonder if we'll handle the weight.
Sometimes it comes easy sometimes at great cost
But we remember Jesus and the weight of His cross.

Jesus went up on the hill that day
With no one to help Him along the way.
He carried the cross for that was His fate
And because of our sins He refused to wait.

I'll wait at the cross cause He's coming back
But this time there'll be no weight on his back.
The cross that was so heavy now stands alone
For the weight Jesus carried earned Him a throne.

Now when we get troubled and are at a loss
Just take all your troubles straight to the cross.
Jesus is waiting for us at the gate
For the cross that we carry will have no weight.
