My Uncle Fred, was one of a kind.
But we loved to visit him, come Christmas time.
Mom said Fred was born with a gift.
But Dad would say, your mom means a fifth!
Fred would have Christmas, when ours would be past.
And I remember Dad would say, "this year is the last".
We kids all enjoyed the presents we got.
They were very expensive, and we all got a lot.
Fred said he did his shopping real late at night.
Because that was when the prices were right.
Now that I'm older I know what Dad meant.
When he said what Fred gave us didn't cost him a cent.
Now we still visit Fred, usually on Sunday.
And he always says kids, I'll be home one day.
I ask Mom what happened, he had always had plenty.
Dad said that's why the judge gave him 10 to 20.
