Too many times,
our life seems to be so tough.
We feel like just throwing up our hands,
and say I've had enough.

I've done all I can,
There's nowhere I can turn.
Satan tells us, I'll let you go back,
To those bridges you burned.

When our Lord died,
on that old rugged tree.
He left it behind,
For you and for me.

Jesus knew there would be times,
We would feel at a loss.
Child all you need to do,
Is go back to the cross.

Down on your knees,
You'll find the cross is still there.
Down deep in your heart,
You'll know Jesus still cares.

Jesus loves to hear,
When we call on his name.
And by way of the cross,
We shall never suffer again.

Our Lord knows we are not perfect,
but still he loves us all.
He is waiting for us,
when on his name we do call.

So speak from you heart,
Your soul shall not be lost.
When our Lord takes us home,
We'll go by the way of the cross.
