The Resting Place

Just Over The Hilltop

As we go through life, we have promises made.
Only to see later, that the promises just fade.
We then start to doubt, we worry and fret.
Why can't we count on, a promise to be kept.

Too many people say, I'll just do things my way.
And maybe my hard work, will pay off some day.
But then we think, there is so much we need to learn.
So what do we do, life is so hard, to who can we turn.

Our precious Lord told us, child in me you can believe.
I spoke to you through tears, that day on a blood stained tree.
Yes your hills may be steep, and at times you feel as if you may drop.
Child the promise I made, shall be kept, for your mansion is waiting,
Just over that hilltop.
