My Lord Is Beside Me

Life can be so hard, and there's times we know not where to turn.
And sometimes we wish, we could cross a bridge we may have burned.
Do we chose the easy way, go back to a life of sin.
It seems so easy, for us to listen to a so called friend.

I'd rather go back, to when at a altar I did call.
Jesus came into my heart, I knew He'd never let me fall.
A love this strong, I thought that I would never find.
But oh those precious words, when Jesus said child you are mine.

We were worth the cost, that our Lord would have to pay.
We were on His mind, as He hung from the cross that day.
No matter how hard, I'll not go back to a life of sin.
Those hard choices we must make, we know there Jesus has already been.

No matter how hard, Satan tries to turn our life around.
Hell's chains can not hold us, we'll be on Holy Ground.
Life is not always easy, there's choices we must make.
But Jesus, He will comfort us, and we know our soul He will take.
