The Resting Place

Paid In Full

As all kids the thought of money, was always on our mind.
We knew we had done many jobs, around our house this time.
Some times it was hard to figure, what all the jobs were worth.
Maybe we could hint at mom and dad, to see what there thoughts were.

To us the jobs were hard, and were worth the charges we ask.
Mom and dad were too busy, so we believed we saved them from task.
The grass in our yard, was long and needed to be mowed.
Yet we did all the jobs, whenever we would be told.

Mama never complained, when we would ask for our pay.
She always seemed so busy, and barely would hear what we would say.
It took me a few years, to understand why mama had tears.
Now it's my time for the tears, mama's been in heaven just a few years.

Don't wait for your mama, to remind you of your chores.
Don't complain when mama, ask you to go to the store.
So many many things, mama would do for us.
So if you happen to see mama in tears, kiss them away the tears are for us.
