The Long Road Home

Seems as if we spend, all
our life looking for gold.
Nothing else can take it's
place, like the old story
is told.
As we grow older and
wiser, we give our soul to
our Lord.
The tears start to fall,
when we learn about the
pain he bore.
Our Lord was God's only
Son, he would pay for our
sins.
Tears fell from heaven, on
our Lord who had not
sinned.
Jesus spoke to his Father,
from the cross that day.
Father by your will, my
blood shall flow down the
cross today.
Jesus would save all who
believed, while high on
the wood.
Our Lord had walked the
roads, to save all those
he could.
The roads Jesus had to
walk, the sharp rocks made
his feet bleed.
Yet on he would walk, to
reach His people in need.
So when you see your
brother, barefoot and
nothing to eat.
My friends these are all
God's children, in heaven
we'll meet.
Our pathway to heaven,
shall not be an easy road.
But in heaven, we'll walk
God's streets as pure as
gold.
