The Resting Place

When Jenny Talks To God

God as I pray to you,
here beside of my bed.
I can hear Jenny in her room,
and the words that she says.
I pray for her daddy,
that you have called home.
And my prayer's for Jenny,
she feels so alone.

It seems like years,
since he went away.
But in my heart,
he will always stay.
God I lost my husband,
and Jenny lost her dad.
But that little eight year old girl,
keeps me from being so sad.

When my tears start,
Jenny says mama it will be alright.
For I talk to daddy,
in my room every night.
I tell him we love him,
and miss him so badly.
I always talk to God,
then I talk to daddy.

I ask God,
to please watch over us.
And how much we love him,
and in him we trust.
God says daddy,
talks about us all of the time.
And he knows we will be with him,
when you say it is time.

God I won't be much longer,
I've just a few more words to say.
I feel so protected,
every time I kneel and pray.
God you know I miss dad,
and mama misses him so badly.
But God thank you so much,
for letting me talk to daddy.

AMEN
