Gone Are The Nails!

Gone Are The Nails

We think of Jesus, an image appears.
We picture a cross, and that brings us tears.
We know that He lives, but we still see the nails.
But then we remember that He still prevails.

His arms were outstretched on the cross that day.
It was the nails that held Him that way.
But now He's in heaven, as  --- love to tell.
And the reason He's there, is that God put Him there.

Chorus

Gone are the nails that held Him that day.
Gone is the cross that stood in His way.
He's now in heaven and with God He does dwell.
With arms outstretched, 'cause gone are the nails.

Now we can pray to Jesus above.
Just give Him your heart, and all of your love.
For He's coming back, like the Bible does say.
With arms outstretched, 'cause gone are the nails.

Chorus

Gone are the nails that held Him that day.
Gone is the cross that stood in His way.
He's now in heaven and with God He does dwell.
With arms outstretched, 'cause gone are the nails.

Luke 22:42
Saying, Father, if thou be willing,
remove this cup from me: nevertheless
not my will, but thine, be done.
