How Much Do I Love
You? |
 |
As I tucked my child into bed one night
She said how much do you love me
As I held her tight.
I said I love you this much
And spread my arms apart.
That means with all my soul
And all of my heart.
Later as I knelt by my bed there
I thanked my dear Lord
For his loving care.
I thanked him for loving me
Enough to die
Cause when I asked that question
This was His reply

How much do I love you
He answered me.
You need not ask
It's as plain as can be.
That day on the hill
Covered with dew
I spread my arms and died
That's how much I love you.

We love our children
Our husbands and wives.
But we don't have to show it
By giving our lives.
Jesus won't let us
Suffer the pain
Like He did for all of us
So we could live again.
I can picture Jesus
That day on the cross.
It was heaven that gained
And Satan that lost.
His love is simple
Now I can see
That's why He spread his arms
And died for me

How much do I love you
He answered me.
You need not ask
It's as plain as can be.
That day on the hill
Covered with dew
I spread my arms and died
How much do I love you
He answered me.
You need not ask
It's as plain as can be.
That day on the hill
Covered with dew
I spread my arms and died
That's how much I love you.
